Dry Land Training
Elite
athletes understand the importance of being both physically
and mentally prepared for competition. This is especially
true for high-level goaltenders. Dry anaerobic conditioning.
Innovative Drills
Each
drill is designed to teach game skills in game-like conditions.
Over thirty years of coaching experience has resulted in what
we believe to be the most creative and innovative training
program. After seeing it in action, we're sure you will agree.
Class Room
Bandit's
classroom lecture sessions are lead by Stan. Classroom sessions
discuss proper technique, nutrition, mental preparation, and
post game analysis. This is a very exciting aspect of our
hockey school that allows our students to learn a great deal
about the game, as well as themselves.
Report Cards
Each student receives a twelve page report that explains
proper execution of the skills covered at Bandits. The report
indicates problem areas for students and offers suggestions
for improvement in these areas. Along with this in-depth report,
the student receives a videotape of his own daily performance.
The tape contains important coaching tips that can be referred
to throughout the years to come.
Seeing is Believing
Using video is critical when breaking down each skill and
identifying problem areas. We tape our students every day
and after being taped, our most experienced coaches provide
a thorough analysis of the student's skill sets. These taped
sessions allow the student to see themselves in action and
able to visualize how ever the most subtle adjustments will
make them better goaltenders. At Bandits, seeing really is
believing.
Coaching Philosophy
We
emphasize making saves properly. Many young goaltenders experience
early success, but are using incorrect techniques. As competition
increases, improperly developed habits will result in decreasing
success.
It is vital to build good habits and strong skill sets into
a younger player's game. This will ensure success as competition
increases.
