Stan was crucial in my development throughout my four years as an Ontario Hockey League goaltender with the Plymouth Whalers. I continue to keep in contact with Stan and still attend his Bandits Goalie School summer camps in the off-season. He taught me the key components to goaltending while focusing on the little things. Stan works tirelessly at nailing down the fundamentals. He explains techniques such as total ice awareness and the importance of the mental aspects of being a goalie. I know that I would not have been drafted by the New Jersey Devils if I had not learned how to become a professional both on and off the ice with the dedicated coaching provided by Stan Matwijiw.
