2011 Christmas Clinic Recap Video
Posted by Joe Messina on 01/2/2012 at 5:29 PM Over the years, Messina has played an important role in the formation and development of Bandits into one of the premier goalie schools in the country. Messina's growing list of students in the Grand Rapids area include some of the most elite amateur, AAA, high school, Jr., college and pro goalies around. Messina's energetic, passionate and instructional teaching methods make every goalie he instructs wanting to strive for perfection on and off the ice.

Bandits saw over 120 goalies with it’s two location holiday Christmas clinic at Compuware (Dec. 22/23) and Grand Rapids (Dec. 27/28). As always the response from goalies, parents and others was great. Goalies not only received a mid season tuneup but also learned and honed a few techniques as well.

Also, for those that received our annual holiday raffle prizes, congratulations, some great stuff was given away!!

Bandits looks forward to seeing all of you in the spring and summer. Good luck the rest of the season!

Over the past few years of my playing career, Stan has worked with me on strong fundamentals. I learned to have better ice awareness in and around my end of the ice. These are just a few excellent skills that Stan has helped me develop in my career. I think Stan is a great teacher for goalies of all ages.

Stan's philosophy and teaching methods at Bandits are exactly what most goalies need. Stan is dedicated and committed towards teaching and improving goalies. He knows the fundamentals of goal keeping as well as any goalie coach I know. Stan is a successful goalie coach, not only because he played the position at a high level, but because he also understands the position, and has a passion to teach and the skills to communicate with young goalies.

A few years ago I was in desperate need for a goalie coach. I decided to attend a Bandits goaltending clinic over Christmas. During those 3 days I learned more about goaltending than I did my entire life. Without the coaching of Stan and the other Bandit instructors, I would not be anywhere near the goalie I am today.
